MailerLite is a completely free email marketing tool that offers professional upgrades as the size of your list grows.
Making it a viable option not only for people looking to implement email marketing campaigns but for affiliate marketers.
Their low introductory offer (Free Plan) makes getting referrals very simple with the possibility to monetize down the road as their list grows.
Their affiliate program offers a healthy commission of 30% on every initial sale and recurring payment for as long as the referral uses MailerLite.
They offer payment through PayPal, which makes payouts very convenient from an affiliate’s perspective.
I’ll be covering everything in-depth that could prove useful to know about their referral program in this MailerLite Affiliate Program Review.
MailerLite Affiliate Program Review
MailerLite’s affiliate program is one that is very similar to other email marketing platforms and one of my favorites GetResponse.
They offer a 30% Monthly Recurring Commission for every person that you can successfully get to sign up for their software.
There isn’t an expiration on how long you will receive commissions from referrals, I recently did a review of Benchmark’s Affiliate Program.
Their payout structure was to stop payments to affiliates after 30 months of continuous use.
You don’t have to worry about that happening with MailerLite, you can create a monthly recurring revenue.
They have a beautifully designed affiliate dashboard, full of relevant marketing material, and real-time statistics.
How To Sign Up For MailerLite Affiliate Program
Signing up for the affiliate program is very simple!
Head on over to MailerLite.com
Scroll down to the bottom of their website and click the affiliate program button.

You’ll then be prompted to enter relevant information and create an affiliate account.
You’ll also be required to provide information on how you’re planning on promoting MailerLite as well as why you think that their affiliate program is relevant to your current audience.
Which are all very common things needed when signing up for an affiliate network.
You’ll also need to provide PayPal information in this process to be able to receive payments.
It can take up to 24 hours to be approved for the affiliate program so be sure to sign-up before you actually plan on promoting.
What’s inside their affiliate dashboard?
Upon being accepted to their MailerLite’s affiliate program, you’ll receive an email that will send you directly to the affiliate dashboard.
Which has relevant marketing material as well as where you’d see your pending commissions and minimum payout information.
You must have a minimum of $50 in pending commissions to cash out and they will only pay you through PayPal.
You can also find more on their affiliate terms here.
The marketing assets

They provide you with banner ads like the ones above.
They come in various sizes and different variations.
Unlike some affiliate programs, they do not provide you with email templates or paid advertising copy.
How Much Could You Make With MailerLite’s Affiliate Program?
Mailerlite has a unique feature that not many other email marketing software companies offer.
Which is an entirely free version that allows the user to send up to 12,000 emails per month.
While this isn’t very conducive to you generating revenue as an affiliate, it does act as a great introductory offer to get your referrals in the door and signed up.
They offer a 30-day sticky cookie for each new referral, which means the person you refer has to sign up within 30 days of their first visit to MailerLite or you will not receive a commission.
Companies like Clickfunnels offer lifetime sticky cookies, however, they don’t have a 100% free plan for people to utilize either.
MailerLite charges based on the size of your email list/amount of subscribers that you have.
With as little as $10 per month, you can send unlimited emails.
As your referrals email list grows, so will your commission rates as it will be more expensive to continue to use their service.
# Of Subscribers | 1 Referral | 10 Referrals | 50 referrals |
1 – 1,000 | $3.00 | $30.00 | $150.00 |
1,001-2,500 | $4.50 | $45.00 | $225.00 |
2,501 – 5,000 | $9.00 | $90.00 | $450.00 |
5,001 – 10,000 | $15.00 | $150.00 | $750.00 |
Keep in mind that these are monthly recurring commissions.
So you’ll be paid a commission for as long as the referral uses MailerLite.
Where can I promote my affiliate program?
MailerLite is quite restrictive as to where you’re actually able to promote their software.
You are not allowed to promote their software with any type of paid advertising or bid for any of their branded keywords.
Doing so will result in immediate termination of the affiliate program.
If you’re unclear about what is ok to do and what isn’t I would read their Legal Page Here.
Places that you can promote MailerLite:
- On Your Website
- A Blog
- Inside Emails
- Direct Referal
MailerLite Affiliate Program Review – Summary
Utilizing affiliate programs just like MailerLite’s is a very viable way to create a monthly recurring commission/semi-passive income.
The commissions will start to stack and add up over time, and you’ll continue to be paid out for months to come after your initial work.
While they do have stricter policies when it comes to their terms of being an affiliate for them compared to other email marketing companies, they do have an entirely free version that anyone can use.
Which acts as a great foot in the door, and introductory offer as there isn’t any pressure or commitment needed from your referrals.
While this isn’t my primary email marketing software that I plan on being an affiliate for.
It is definitely a program I will utilize if I come across someone looking for a free alternative with the hopes of monetization down the road.
